The Guest List

Before we can decide on a place, or anything for that matter, we need to figure out how many people will be attending the actual wedding. This is where Aaron and I disagree. He thinks that anyone we have ever been in contact with needs to be there. I however, think it should be more intimate with just our close friends and family.

My family alone consists of 45 people, and I'm sure when Grandma Sharon gets a hold of it, she will try to add plenty more. The total number of people on the "current" list is 127. That's 52 more than we planned on. I was hoping to keep it under 75 people.

I know that since we will be getting married in a "destination" location, some people won't be able to attend. But i also know that there will be some +1's that I did not include. This list will be more updated in the next couple of months, but we needed to have an idea before we could find a location.

Up next... finding the city where this will all take place!

The Proposal

On Wednesday, April 7, 2010, Aaron finally asked me to marry him. I of course said yes! :)

That day is a special day for him and I. It marked the 7th year of us being together. Crazy, I know. He called me at work around 4pm and said that he needed to go to Tahoe to drop some proofs off to a client. He asked if i wanted to go with. While we were on our way he said that he needed to get gas a a Shell station on the way up to Mt. Rose. While he was getting gas, he told me to come to the trunk to take a look at the proofs. I got and and looked, and there it was. The ring.

He planned it out quite well, picking me up in the Mustang, which is the car he had on our first date, and the Shell station is where we had our first kiss, exactly 7 years ago to the day. He even had the shirt I was wearing that night too.

It seems like everyone knew this was going to happen except for me. He called my dad and Sandy and asked their permission (awwww) and he called Roni to see what ring i wanted. Roni had been asking me for the last couple weeks and made me go online to find the ring that i would want "just in case" because "she had a feeling" it was going to be soon.

I honestly had no idea that was going to happen. Especially when I started the day thinking that he forgot our anniversary or had nothing planned, since he said we would do something this weekend. Obviously i am very excited.

Nothing has been planned yet, but I figured I would create this blog so that people in our lives can be up-to-date on the task at hand.
